Contractor Listing

In Unincorporated Johnson County we have a Contractor Listing Program, PLEASE NOTE other municipalities have their own requirements. This listing allows you to be able to pull a permit on behalf of the homeowner.

To be a listed Contractor with the County, you need:

• a $15,000 Surety Bond made payable to Johnson County and/or an unknown third party. The bond MUST BE for at least a year, and does not have to extend from January to December of that year. These bonds can be obtained through a local insurance agent.
• $150 fee for a 1 year listing
• $200 fee for a 2 year listing
• $400 fee for a 5 year listing

*To be listed 2 or 5 years requires a 2 or 5 year bond*

The listing is good for duration of the bond. There are no penalties if you decided to let your listing “lapse” and renew it at a later date.
